Well, I give high probability that They are not having issues transmuting anything, these days. But yes, there is a gazillion tons of gold on Our planet.
Meanwhile, the free energy They use (and keep from Us) would make all "precious" metals merely pretty and useful, and accounting for Our energy added (with "money" in any form) pointless. Thus They keep it from Us.
