Every day there is a set amount of new LEO created.
This new LEO is distributed by stakeholders (those with Leo Power), via 'the reward pool' - Half to authors and half to curators.
So the more LEO you have staked, the bigger your say in how this new LEO is divided up.

To even this new LEO being created up, the team generates revenue in HIVE via the leo.voter account and in BTC by running ads on their front-end.
This revenue is then used to buy LEO off the market to ensure there is real demand.
@forexbrokr thank you for this, it makes a lot of sense. Do you happen to know where this information is? I can't seem to find any information about it, although I did find a site where the value of the vote/like was visible.
