Just as I decide to part ways with NBA topshot for several reasons I find out that later this month Major League Baseball via Topps & Wax are set to go live with Baseball NFTs.
This is something I've looked forward to and I'm disappointed that I hadn't noticed this talked about on Leofinance because it is already too late to sign up for a special free pack. Oh well that's life I guess but this MLB stuff really excites me.
Anything really collectible is what I see as viable NFT markets and I'm glad this is happening now because honestly the NFT hyper craze is really annoying. Not everything needs to be an NFT but some things honestly should.
I'm thrilled that Topps is on Wax and not on Flow like the NBA and just as I was mentioning in my previous NFT post Baseball has a chance not to make every mistake possible. TopShot is a total mess but at least they are not afraid to embrace how bad they are.
I have no clue what an MLB NFT will actually look like but let's hope it will be better than the NBA Moments. They are exciting to get, but once you look at them they aren't that appealing.
Baseball has a chance to do this right and I'd hope they make these things more like the cards that people have been collecting for a hundred years. Nothing says future like nostalgia lol.
Here is a link to the announcement post. It seems these will be hard to get in a drop but I'm hopeful and can't wait to participate. What are your thoughts about WAX as an investment? Is it worth trading a couple of hundred hive for some?

I traded 200 hive for some wax just to have. The NFTs for Alien worlds are expensive. I haven't bought yet.

I think that these are only going to be available via credit card unless you purchase them on the secondary market. I am thinking I might grab some. Probably just the standard packs. I don't think I will try for any of the premium ones. That $100 price point is high for me. If I could buy them in WAX, then I probably would because I have a bunch of that just laying around :) I am excited about these as well. I hope it drives more people to WAX and bumps the price over $1.

The MLB market is very broad and it will only be a matter of time for this to be constantly on the rise, it is important to do your own analysis but without a doubt that the numbers speak for themselves!

I got on Wax a while ago for the Prospectors Game - from a user experience I thought it was pretty straight forward and could see how games could really do well there. Never had to buy anything, and could just play.
It seems they have setup really well for the NFT game as well, and already have a user base who is will and eager to use it. After seeing what has happened with Doge, I guess all you really need is an irrational community, and price can do whatever it wants. Might be worth a gamble?
