I think whenever you pair something with another token that has high liquidity you help the weaker one, if there were more ETH pairs for lets say LEO on more exchanges nad if LEO could get a BTC or EOS pair it just makes it so much easier and more efficient to get in and out, the capital flows much easier, and people are willing to get in because they can also get out without moving the price down
