The stronger your password, the more protected your computer will be from hackers and malicious software. Over the years, cyber security experts have made recommendation for strong, unique password which in most cases their reason being the daily malicious threat by cyber actors who compromise websites and online accounts. And every other time as a means to resist BRUTE FORCING, where a cyber actor tries every possible password until the correct password is identified.

Unauthorized access possess a lot of challenge for anyone whose computer or tech-device such as mobile phones has been compromised. Example of such challenge may include loss of valuable data, bank details, stolen identity etc amongst many others. Hence, it is important that you pay attention to this recommendation by experts and create you a strong, unique password.

WHAT IS MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (MFA)?
This in simple term is a method of log-on verification where at least two different factors of proof required for login. This can be applied on social accounts, wallets, online accounts etc. MFA can also be referred to as 2FA (Two-factor authentication). TYPES OF MFA

Here are some useful tips to creating you a strong password

a. Use a unique password for each of your important accounts. Do not use the same password across multiple accounts.
b. Your password should be at least 10 characters long. Password should consist of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers and special characters.
c. Do not use personal information such as your name, age, date of birth, child’s name, pet’s name, or favorite color/song when constructing your password.
d. Always log off/sign out if you leave your device for the day.
e. Avoid entering passwords on computers or tech-devices you don't control.
f. Avoid entering passwords when connected to unsecured Wi-Fi connections.
g. Never tell your password to anyone except in cases when it will save a life maybe for investigation if demanded by the police.
h. Never write down your passwords on a sticky paper and hide underneath your workstation or telephone. Somebody will find it.
