One of my favorite books is "Purple Hibiscus." This novel addresses a lot of issues most African home faces. Actress Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a young African lady, and her novels are some of the best. An African story My young sister bought this book for me. Seriously, this novel is really interesting.

This is a live story of a young girl and her brother named "Kambili and Jaja and her family. Their father is a devoted Catholic who doesn't joke with church. In his house, you will receive holy communion. She has a brother by the name of Jaja; her father, Uncle Eugene, demands perfection from the kids; he plans everything for them; the kids have no life of their own. and he punishes them without mercy if they disobey his orders. Their father abuses their mother physically.

Though the family may have everything, they lack joy and peace of mind due to their violent father. They have a grandfather called Papa-Nnukwu, but their father will never allow them to spend time with him just because he practices tradition, and he hates the dad for that. At a point, the grandfather regretted giving him to the white man.

After Kambili and the brother visited Aunt Ifeoma during their holiday, the two experienced what it looks like to have freedom. The kids got their voice after they came back from the holiday; their mother posited their father's food, and Jaja took the blame. The mother could not stand the father's attitude any more.

The actor wrote this novel based on what is happening in most African families. Most families their children don't ever have a say in deciding everything that the kids do, but the friends they keep and the career they choose. this novel is a most read

lesson learnt

*The lesson I learned from the novel is to always be free with your children so that they can talk to you freely. Most parents fail in this because they don't show their kids that they love and deserve.
