Friends,

Seeking to read the Bible and go deeper into God's word.

The Bible was read in childhood through Sunday School, and a conversion to Catholicism occurred a few years ago; now a deeper study is desired.

Since you mentioned a conversion to Catholicism, a gentle start is the Gospel of John with the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible plus the daily Mass readings. Try simple lectio divina for 10 minutes a day, dont overthink it, go steady and you will see very very rich insights :)

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check out the Gospel of John and the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible. Starting with lectio divina for 10 minutes a day sounds doable. Appreciate the guidance on keeping it simple and steady

Love it, starting with Jo;hn and 10 easy minutes is a strong, peaceful rhythm :)
When a verse tugs at you, just sit with it through the day and let it shape a simple breath prayer, it’ll defintiely stick.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely try sitting with a verse that stands out and turning it into a breath prayer. Sounds like a peaceful way to keep it with me through the day

Two questions:

  1. Best Bible translation/edition
  2. Best reading plan — aiming to finish in six months or less, link the stories together, and keep good flow

Feedback appreciated. Thanks
