Thanks for those charts, those are important ones to keep in mind I think! Not many are talking about those types of things, certainly not the people crying for the Fed to do more or some of the sensationalism. I think it adds a layer of truth to the discussion and will certainly use that in discussions with people in the future!
The flip from inflation to deflation can be powerful. People are married to the idea inflation bad, deflation good. That is not the case.
Deflationary environments are very painful. The Great Depression was the most powerful deflationary period in US history for the first few years. Nothing enjoyable about that.
