Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.
From this season, I have been playing in the Wild Season and thus earning Glint rewards. I don't keep the Glint rewards and spent it to buy the cards. Most of the time I am buying the Rare Card which costs around 500 Glint. But this time I thought of keeping it and buying the Epic Card. Though getting the Epic card was good, but I got the same Epic card which I previously had so it was not that great of a card.
Now the question is whether spending on rare card makes sense or keeping it for Epic card. Like 1 rare card costs around 500 Glint whereas Epic card 5K. I am not even talking Legendary because that is like my 2 to 3 seasons earning. Hopefully with the rare card I can earn around 10 or 15 depending on the winning. So 10 Rare card or 1 Epic card is the real question for me.
The advantage of having the rare card is that you get the summoners too with it. And once you have more level summoner, you can play with more level cards. And thus getting more cards makes sense.
Then comes the Epic cards which are somewhat good cards, most of them and having that in team makes your team much more powerful. The only problem with me is that I cannot have more than 1 Epic card per season as my Glint rewards are not that high. So for me buying the cards makes more sense than anything else. I will try to buy more rare cards and occasionally I will go for the Epic cards. And then keep the balance between the two.
