Silent Layoff Is Happening

in LeoFinance2 days ago

We used to hear mass layoff and that seem to be a bug news now a day. These layoffs were because of AI adoption, business slow down and other things. But the major concern is the silent layoff. A lot of companies are silently laying off people by some means. They are either directly saying that your role is not required or putting them on PIP.

Now the thing, it is happening randomly and thus the news are not coming. Every company is doing it and thus slowly and steadily they are removing a large number of workforce. If I talk about my company, the business is not doing good and thus they are silently removing few people all around the world. It's not that they are removing everyone at once, they are laying off few people in one month, then again few people and like that they have removed 6% from their Indian Office.

And since it's a business issue, you cannot do anything. And alsmot everyone lives in a fear now because next they can be the target. Most of us started looking for the job outside, but again the job market is not that great and thus the calls are very few. It can be because we are not on notice period. Basically when you are on notice period more calls used to come but when you are working then the calls are not that high.

So as I was saying, that silent layoff is also happening in almost all the companies and thus its not only the AI which is causing the issue. It is because of the business too. A lot of business is going in loss and most of the companies have started cost cutting and removing workforce is one such measure which can give quick cost cutting.
