Another pretty good week with 2 prizes won which add up to around 14$ in earnings. I'm also trying to fix my broken Rare Cap240 Team and feel much more competitive with all the limited players that I have available.
Rare Cap 240 Team
I still keep my goal of having a cheap Cap240 Rare team with an eye on reaching the 250 Threshold multiple times over the course of the year to earn back my investment and more. As my Midfielders either are unjured or benched at the moment I had to go look for someone extra in order to fill the spot and give me a chance to compete. For that reason I bought Mory Konaté who is the new defensive midfielder for Kv Mechelen. The problem there is that he had problems with his Visa and even though I read he arrived, he was not in the selection. Regardless, coach Defour mentioned that he's planning on using him as soon as he can so I'm expecting him to be in the team soon. He likely won't crush it on the numbers but at least give me a chance when he turns out in a player that always plays. I also only paid 27.76€ for him so there is upside price potential in case he does perform well.
I'm not at 10 players which apparently is still enough to enter the Kickoff Rare competition. I might just leave that aside and go for owning more Rare cards in general so I have more too choose from and I also can take profit in case one goes a lot higher.

Week 2 Cap 240 Result
Even if Konaté would have played, it would have been hard to reach the 250 Point Threshold and Warleson made an unfortunate own goal as a ball hit the post and bounced in goal off his back. Alzate is a bench player in Brighton, Onuachu is still waiting for a transfer (hopefully to Genk but chances have slimmed down) Maertens still suffers from a nerve in his eye which was hit and only came in at the end. His replacement didn't do well so I have hope for him to be back in the team even though I do fear he won't be at his best.

Week 4 Rare Cap 240 Team
I fielded the same team in the hope that Konaté will be ready for the next match but I am keeping my eye on some potential new affordable players to buy.
Limited Teams & Results
Some great results for my limited teams instantly putting Zicjernagel to good use which I managed to buy for 14.05€. From the looks of it, Verbruggen isn't the 1st goalkeeper in Brighton so I'm kind of putting the U23 league on hold until I have one of my young goalkeepers as a starter. I'm also now in a position where I can field good players in the Challenger Europe League from top teams that play against easy opponents which is almost a guarantee for a lot of points. I was quite fortunate to end 234th this week with a team that has an overall budget lower compared to 1 player from teams that scored similar points. My Cap240 team also easily reached the threshold but both Bocat and Vanhoutte who where the cheaper players underperforming got me just outside of the card reward spot.

Player Transfers & Reward Card
I failed to sell 1 of my Zeno Van Den Bosch copies as he's back on the bench now with Avila in and his value dropped a bit again. I did buy Konat& for 27.76€ and Zinckernagel for 14.04€ (now worth 30e+ already) The Tier 3 reward card I received was Dario Melnjak who is an older player that has very consistent higher scores. I'm not quite sure yet If I will sell him or use him. I also sold an old 2021-2022 copy of Koita for 4.71€ as I have a higher level 2022-2023 copy also. I'm looking to sell off more of these old 2021-2022 cards as the extre -5% soon will be a big blow combined with bonus % getting more important.
Week 4 Limited Teams
I put most of my heavy weights on the Challenger Europe Competition which normally should score me quite some points also because each player is well above the +10% bonus range.
I potentially could make a stronger cap240 Team but I'm hoping to just reach the threshold with this one even though I would not bet money on it.
For sure not a bad team in the All-Star Limited but way too high of a chance for 1 or even 2 players to have an off day. So I will need a ton of luck in this one.

Conclusion
I'm still having a ton of fun with Sorare and the season still has a long way to go. Soon there will be some adjustments on the scoring which will likely make it harder to reach the 250 Threshold but it should still be achievable. I'm highly looking forward to another weekend to come. how is this going for you? I gave up as I never understood the mechanics well.
I'm having a ton of fun with it and am quite addicted actually. The game really gives an added dimension when you are a football fan who is watching matches. The mechanics aren't that complicated. You buy and own player cards, those that play in supported leagues get points based on their stats in the game they play. You field 5 of them and based on the total score you get a rank which allows you to potentially win cash price or more cards. There are some added dynamics with bonus percentages and collections but those aren't too hard to understand.
You can play the Pay2Win game and spend a lot of money on the best players and a big gallery to choose from or you can play the skill game of actually trying to make a profit by getting the good value player.

My advice: if you can do it, invest a small amount of money. Don't play with common cards, in my opinion they are a waste of time (only useful to get some coins). I am convinced that you should always consider well how to spend your money: the biggest mistake is to buy random cards
