In a way, the top teams not winning should always help to make some profit as the popular choises often are the ones which make people lose in the long run. Betting really remains a challenge, but a fun one.

If you do spot the value bets in the underdogs winning, for sure there could be some profit in the long run. But if you would bet always on the underdog blindly your bankroll will vaporize.
But I do get your point. The problem often is that when the favorite comes behind, people tend to keep on placing bets on the favorite to win.
It is hard to rule out emotions when betting and you do this just great!
