I have tried the doing this with the normal markdown but it didn't work on INLEO.

Yeah, it worked on labs, I tested it some minutes ago.
Well, the problem was on the main website. Every now and then I leave Labs without realizing it hahaha...
Yes. I realized the experience on labs is better.
In order for me to remain on labs, I had to change the URL of all the open tabs of INLEO to labs.
I noticed that editing a comment on a long form post still doesn't work but it works fine on threads.
If you're in Labs, and can't edit a long post, create a feedback thread so the development team can see it.
The times I edited in Labs it always worked. See if you are really trying through Labs.

I tried with your link to reply to a comment on a long-form post from my notifications but got an error page.
Try labs and try a blank line between center and image. it looked right on preview but not sure if it will stay when you post.
