If you exchange Leo for something else it is now on that chain.
Ok, but in LeoDex's own wallet... it doesn't go to my own "external" wallet. I guess for that I have to make a withdrawal afterwards.

Yes you have to do a wtihdrawal if you want to use an "external wallet"
that are working on making it so the XDefi wallet will connect but currently it just uses a keystore.
