I used to be bullish on LTC. But now I think a LTC hold is unnecessary as its only utility is fast transaction in a secure network. BTC is a better store of value.

True.....Actually, ETH offered something different, e.g. Smart contract.
LTC offered only fast transactions and nothing else...that is why it could not gain traction like ETH.
