Mexico leads the ranking of retail trade in Latin America

A recent investigation by Daniel Cartolin - one of the members of the analysis firm Chainalysis - showed that Mexico has made the most of the crypto retail transactions since July of last year.

The latest reports on adoption or volume of crypto trade worldwide have highlighted the image of Venezuela in the Latin American region. The economic crisis that the country has been experiencing for years has pushed its small investors to bet on decentralized and alternative assets.

However, the references and crypto specialists have stressed the importance of crypto adoption in the retail market to clean up the image of alternative assets as means of payment and relegate their figure of speculative assets to the background. In this scenario, Venezuela does not lead the continent.

With 11% of operations, Mexico tops the list for all of Latin America, which alone represents only 7% of the world's retail trade worldwide.

According to Cartolin's work, Latin America received 24 million dollars in retail transactions, and was the issuer of 25 million. Cross-border payments and local trade stand out as the two major hubs for movements below USD 10,000.
