5 years and counting for me, although I left for a couple years during the whole fiasco. There wasn't a lot to be positive about during those times so I just tuned it all out.
Hive is now a daily ritual for me. It's the first thing I do every morning and the last thing I check at night. I make sure I read a few articles about the latest news in regards to the things I care about and get my votes in. Once my work season ends I'll be posting fairly regularly again as well.
I view Hive as a giant savings account. Every day I'm adding 13-15 Hive to my account through curation, delegation, passive Hive-paying projects, and regular inflation. Ultimately, the goal is to be able to build enough of a stake that if and when Hive finally goes mainstream I will be able to basically live off of the income. Whether that actually happens or not, I do believe that Hive is here to stay and with all the other projects being connected to and built upon it, eventually one or more will take off and allow me to make a meaningful income from place.
Time will tell. In the meantime, I'll just keep building every day. At these low levels, I'm confident that worst-case scenario isn't much less than it is right now.

I have a similar plan. I don't know any other place where it's as 'easy' to make money online. There are plenty of ways to grow our bags by doing enjoyable things :-)
Plenty of other ways to grow our bags pulling out our hair, too. :-) Stupid Splinterlands....
Let me guess, early season frustration???
Early season, late season, mid season, they're all the same. I just get tired of the RNG pounding me. I swear I can put up identical lineups and lose 9 out of 10 due to misses and who goes first. It will probably eventually drive me away from playing. I realize there's always going to be a certain amount of luck involved but...drives me crazy. I don't mind getting beat when I've been outplayed but there is nothing fun about knowing what your opponent is going to do, putting out a great counter, and losing anyway to luck of the dice.
At some point I'll probably just have to rent my deck and work my land...
Recently, I make an effort to increase the speed of my team as much as possible with swiftness and slow. Like that I'm the first to hit :-). It helped to bring my win rate up but I totally get what you are saying.
Yes, but my point is you actually have to hit for it to matter. :-) I mean, seriously, I can't tell you how many times I'll go against the Pelacor Conjuror and have the same and I'll miss his with my Dr Blight and he'll hit and poison mine first turn. Just ridiculous. The entire battle changes from luck.
Again, I realize there needs to be that element in the game so anyone can beat anyone in any given match. It's one of the things that makes the NFL such an incredible success. On any given Sunday, any team can beat any other team. I just hate losing. lol So taking these random losses gets under my skin more than it probably should. I haven't tossed my monitor yet so that's good at least. Maybe I should try to look at this as a character-building exercise. 🙂 The problem is, I imagine my opponent over there thinking he/she is some genius and it pisses me off. lol (I might be slightly over-competitive)
That's why I play golf. Zero luck involved. The only time luck comes into play is when you hit a shot you weren't trying to hit. If I hit it where I'm aiming, I can't get a bad bounce or hit a rake or end up behind a tree or something. You can get some bad breaks (or good ones) but those only happen when you didn't do what you were intending to do from the beginning. If I get a buried lie in the bunker, guess what, don't hit it in the bunker and I wouldn't have to worry about it.
Full circle...(sorry for the rant, lol)...I agree about the speed. It's amazing how often giving up a good attacking card for a weaker one that has Swiftness or Slow can end up being the much better choice. It's another reason I need to figure out how to get my Kitty maxed. While the healing and speed are great, the best part about it is she never misses. It really makes it a lot more fun for me. Then it's just who put out the best lineup. No luck involved.
Wow, apparently I had a lot to say. lol
You had definitely a lot to say lol. I actually love to play "You can't hit me". Check out this one https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_82436b4ed5c658138c0a4812719d680c&ref=achim03
I think my oponent must have felt some frustration lol
