My patience was key for this one 🙌
Friday morning started slow and I didn't see any orders worth taking for the first hour. I was sitting in the comfort of my apartment when I got a notification about a $65 batch. This was the highest paying batch that I have ever seen myself, although I have found other people on Reddit in different cities getting paid even better.
I accepted the order right away because it was only 9 different items and less than two miles of driving. You have to accept quickly or else you risk another shopper getting the batch you're looking at. I accepted without hesitation and then inspected the item list.

As you can see, it turns out that they wanted a lot more than just 9 items. It was all cans of drinks and some of them they wanted as many as 15 of. Usually this would be a terrible order, even with the great pay. Luckily for me though, they had just restocked the soda area and I was the very first person to start adding items into my cart.
By the time I found every single thing that they wanted, I had two shopping carts full of drinks. This was by far the heaviest order I've ever had. There was well over 500 individual cans in total.
The customer picked the right time to buy all of this stuff. They ended up saving over $50 due to the sales that were going on. This kept their order under $500, but not by much.
I think many shoppers would have regretted taking this order, but not me. It was a lot of lifting, but I prefer that over running circles in the store looking for a bunch of small items. I guess I see that this is the type of moment I have been training for at the gym.
My new car had plenty of space to hold all of the drinks. I completely filled up my trunk and then put the remaining items in my back seat. I still had a ton of room to spare and could have easily added more if I needed to.
When I arrived to the delivery point I was surprised that it was just a regular business and not a restaurant. I assumed they'd be reselling all of these drinks at a premium, but it turns out it was just to restock a community pantry for their workers. That means their employess get unlimited free drinks.
Thankfully they had a cart waiting for me, so I only had to make three trips. I was worried at first that it may require closer to twenty trips back and forth from my car and up the elevator to their second floor offices. The lady that let me in was super nice too. Her and I stocked their shelves with all of the drinks in speedy fashion.
Not only did this business take care of its own workers, but it also took great care of me. This was the first time that I'd ever received a tip over $50. I was ecstatic about how much money I made in such a short amount of time. It wasn't easy to work, but I just wiped the sweat off my brow and got it done.

I'm so thankful for customers like this. If all of my orders were like this one, I'd be totally okay with that. Hard work, but great pay. You really cannot beat it.

you cant put a price on trust and customer service, when ppl feel appreciated good things happen, staying fit does help you with those type of orders, glad you are doing good bud
You're right about that! I give it all of my efforts and sometimes I get rewarded huge like this.
Nice banner!
That's a good point about it being better with everything being in one place vs scattered throughout the store. I bet other shoppers were like "theres a guy who drinks way too much soda." Lol 😂
I had multiple people say to me "You better not be planning on drinking all of that at once".
I even joked with an old man in the parking lot when he spoke to me and I said it was all mine and I drink a 12-pack a day. That of course is not true and I revealed it to him after a minute of him thinking I was a supreme sugar addict.
Haha that's funny. 😂
Right on! Really seems like you like it. It wasn't working around here for me, lol. I ended up getting 2 jobs, one at a grocery store as a meat clerk and the other slinging subs, lol. And hey, I can't complain about the money honestly... At least I have guaranteed income to knock out some debts and rebuild some stacks.
Anyway, keep up the good work! The weight lifting certainly helps, lol.
Somehow yes, it's probably my favorite job that I've ever had. There are some days that there are no good orders, but the good days make up for that.
As long as you're bringing money in somehow, that's what really matters. Well being happy too of course.
There are bad people in this world and there are good people, how you did all this hard work to get the order and then go and deliver it and they treated you very well. It happens that those people are very good in the way they are treating their employees in a way that very few people do. The way that company is taking care of its workers, GOD will bless its work a lot. The order it was was a huge order, a normal family could never order so many drinks. When a person works hard and his reward is met, the heart is very happy.
I seem to get lucky and meet more good people than bad.
YES, all the sweating at the gym prepared u for this moment!
150 lbs.??! That's a backstreet boy! :P
awesome tip and nice payday!
Slight work

🤜💰🤑
I am not sure if it's always the case... but tips seem to always exceed batch earnings.
Majority of the time yes, but that is because I avoid the orders where tips are way less than batch pay since batch pay is already low most of the time. There are plenty of $7-$10 zero-tip orders out there, not for me though.
That was a huge order, they may have ordered for their whole month and now they don't need to go to Shops to buy drinks for themselves. But this much quantity of drinks can dismantle your health. they should care for it. There may be Some party going on their home. There could be many reasons. Happy for you that you got 51.81$ tip ;)
Luckily every item was in one of two aisles, so it was very easy to find. Not so easy to get loaded/unloaded in/out of the car though.
I'd never drink these types of drinks often, but I guess their office loves them.
loading and unloading was the real challenge :P
Was that kind of a Uber-Shopping-Job?! Great story but I didn’t get how you signed for this and got tipped. A special app for people doing groceries for others? 🤔
It's USA and Canada only as of now. They are supposed to be going global soon though. If you want more info, this is where you sign up https://www.instacart.com/
Ah ok. Thanks!
Getting a tip over $50 is really good news. Sometimes such a tip creates temporary happiness in the mind.
I was so freaking happy to get lucky enough to accept this order.
congratulations mate and keep the good work up, however, coke is able to destroy corrosion from metals, so imagine how harmful it is for your body.
I would NEVER consume soda like this which is terrible for us. I did when I was younger, but luckily realized as an adult that it was horrible for our internal system. Whatever makes these people happy though, I can't judge them too hard.
Congratulations, today has been a very good day for you. Those guys were really nice, they gave you a fifty dollar tip its really amazing amount for tip.
Cool...
This job feels really good.
I feel it's like a nice idea to start something like this in Nigeria..
What's the name of the app? (Instacart app??
I love it. It's called https://www.instacart.com/. I'm not sure if they have an alternative in Nigeria, but perhaps they will soon.
The initiative will not be an idea in Nigeria...
we have something like this for delivering food but not for delivering other things at the moment
The truth is that it is a somewhat heavy request but with that good tip it is worth the effort, I also thought it was a place to later resell the drinks and never to the employees
You never know what you’ll be doing with Instacart. It stays interesting.
you have to have a little patience and better opportunities will come
That's true.
