This is a report for Hive transfers to and from exchanges in the last period. We will be looking at the data for the amount of daily Hive transferred to and from exchanges and by user. From here we can have indication who is buying who is selling. Although deposits and withdrawals to exchanges are not 100% buys or sells.
Here we will be looking at the transfers to and from exchanges in October and the first days of November.
Here we will be looking at the following:
- Daily transfers to exchanges
- Top accounts that deposited to exchanges
- Daily withdrawals from exchanges
- Top accounts that withdraw from exchanges
- Net deposits/withdrawals
Exchanges taken in the analysis: Binance, Huobi, Bittrex, Upbit, Probit, Ionomy and MXC. There are few more exchanges but the volume there is quite low.
Daily transfers/deposits to exchanges
Here is the chart for the daily transfers/deposits to exchanges.
Note: Transfers between exchanges accounts are excluded from the data above.
A total of 13.8M HIVE was deposited to exchanges in the period above. On average 240k HIVE per day. In the last report this average was around 140k HIVE per day, so the trend is up. Obviously, the price reflects this as well.
The transfers between exchanges accounts is usually where the biggest transactions happens and are on average x2 then the data above.
Top accounts that deposited to exchanges
Who has transferred the most funds to exchanges? Here is the chart.
Note: Exchange to exchange transfers are excluded. Those are usually the largest transfers.
The @jhwang account is on the top with around a million hive transferred to exchanges. Looks like this account is in the HBD conversions. @encrypt3dbr0k3r is on the second place followed by @hivekorea.
On the HBD side the transfers to exchanges are smaller with around 150k HBD transferred in the period. The top transfers are from @cecil0414 with 26K HBD, then @jupiter70 and @hivekorea.
Daily withdrawals from exchanges
What about withdrawals from exchanges? How much is been withdrawn and by who?
Here is the chart for the daily withdrawals to exchanges.
As for the above, here as well the transfers between exchanges accounts are excluded.
A total of 8.5M HIVE was withdrawn from exchanges in the period above. On average 146k HIVE per day. Interesting compared to the previous period (around 100k per day), withdrawals are also up.

Note: Exchange to exchange transfers are excluded. Those are usually the largest transfers.
The @steempty account is on the top with 750k HIVE withdrawn in the period, followed by @shai-2 and @hivekorea.
Net deposits/withdrawals
The net deposit/withdrawals chart looks like this.
As for the other chart here as well transfers between exchanges account are excluded.
Positive bar means more funds are withdrawn from exchanges on that day, negative bar is more funds deposited to exchanges.
A lot more days with more deposits to exchanges than withdrawals. A total of 13.8M HIVE deposited to exchange VS 8.5M withdrawn. 5.3M in favor of deposits.
On average 90k per day more HIVE withdrawals to exchanges. Compared to the previous period the there was around 40k Hive withdrawn to exchanges we have seen almost an x2 increase in exchanges deposits. This has been a trend for the Hive blockchain since its creation. In April 2020 there was around 106M HIVE on exchanges and now there is a 123M HIVE on exchanges. A total of 17M more HIVE on exchanges added in 9 months period. There was some slow down in August and September but in the last two months the trend is up again.

More sellers than buyers
Very interesting stats. Thanks for sharing this. It is nice to see who is brining money into the platform and who is taking it out.

Great report (as usual), @dalz.

there is still too much movement from HIVE towards exchanges
Hopefully this trend will change in the next year and less HIVE is present on the exchanges
Thanks for the great graphics

Do not miss the last post from @hivebuzz:
Hive needs to expand to outer communities to broaden the network and users. instant wallet creation with no phone verification will increase new investors and members. Witdrawing or depositing is just a data. The broader the user the more traffic of hive liquid in transfer
