dCity started its journey at the end of January 2020. One year later and the game is still around š. It has been an interesting development. Started only as a discord bot, then had its frontend build. In the summer 2020 the second edition of cards was released and in the last few months we are awaiting for the 3rd edition.
Letās check out the stats!
https://dcity.io/info
For those not familiar with the game, dCity is a city simulator game where players are buying NFTs in form of a cards, that represent buildings and then try to optimize their city production.
Players are rewarded with the in-game token SIM on a daily basis based on their city production. The top 400 players are rewarded with HIVE based on their ranking on the leaderboard.
Here we will be looking into the following:
⢠Cards issued by date
⢠Cards issued by type
⢠Cards issued by player
⢠SIM and HIVE rewarded to players
⢠Cards buying
⢠Top earners
The period that we will be looking here is from the start of the game, at the end of January 2020 till January 6, 2020.
Cards Issued
Here is the chart of the cards issued per day.
The first months up to the second edition of cards have quite a small volume. Then in June 2020 the second edition come up and things started to heat up. Up to 6k cards bought per day at the time, from the under 1k before that.
After the second edition was released, we can see a drop in the buying cards. Then in November 2020 there is a big increase in the cards buying in anticipation of the new edition and the end of the first one. Since then we are still waiting for the 3rd and there is a drop in the cards buying in the last few weeks.
The chart above doesnāt include cards like immigrants, homeless and the other citizens cards that players get randomly. No tech cards as well.
Cards Issued by Player
Here is the chart for the top 20 players that purchased cards.
@desyfit is on the top with almost more than a 200k purchased. Interesting he is not a no.1 player, so it means its basically for trading purposes. @alicemudgarden on the second and @jelly13 on the third place.
There is a total of 1250 accounts that received a dCity card.
Cards Issued by Type
Here is the chart for the cards issued by type.
The number of cards by type is basically following the drop rate of the cards. The Basic Homes on the top with 140k cards circulating, next the Park and the Farm and then Wind Turbine. Interesting Park and Farm are from the second edition, so they have been bought a lot.
The above are basically the most common cards. How about the rarest?
Here the chart for those.
The Waves Broadcast Tower is the rarest card in the game. At least from the ones that are on from the house š.
The tech cards are rarer than the above.
Next are the Hospital and the Laboratory.
SIM Rewarded
The game is rewarding its players with SIM on a daily basis. Here is the chart for the daily amounts of SIM rewarded to players.
As we can notice the amount of SIM rewards has been increasing since more cards are issued daily that are bringing SIM to their players.
We can see the drop in the last period due to some realy high taxes because of a low SIM price and presidential taxes.
Overall, as more cards are bought more SIM is rewarded. In the last period around 5M SIM is rewarded daily.
How about SIM spent?
The chart for buying cards with SIM looks like this.
This chart keeps on growing as well. For most of the time it follows the SIM rewards chart.
SIM Rewarded VS SIM Spent
Here is the chart.
This is basically showing is how much SIM didnāt go back in the game and players kept it. Remember SIM is now governance token and players are holding so they can elect president that can set some parameters in the game like taxes etc. A hodling rewards were just introduced as well.
Overall, players were rewarded with around 600M SIM and at the same time around 540M was spent for buying cards. From this we can tell that most of the SIM goes back in cards buying. Around 60M was not spent back and players kept it.
The top SIM Earners
Here is the chart for the top SIM earners.
@themightyvolcano is an all time champion in earing SIM with more than 30M SIM earned.
@d-pend on the second place with 29M and then @jrcornel on the third place with 22M. The doc is a top SIM earner in the last month.
HIVE Rewards
The game is rewarding players in HIVE as well.
At first these rewards were distributed on a weekly basis and afterwards on daily basis. 50% of the cards sales goes into the reward pool, and 1.5% of that is distributed daily to players. A change was made afterwards and now 1% of the pool is distributed daily.
Here is the chart.
An increase and then a drop after the correction in distribution, then up in the last months, and a slight drop in the last weeks.
At the moment of writing this there is 275k HIVE in the reward pool. The highest the reward pool reached was just above 300k a few week ago.
Top HIVE earners
Here is the chart for the top HIVE earners.
@luca-legend is on the top here with almost 25k HIVE received, followed by @themightyvolcano and then @sketching.
The HIVE rewards are based on population, so there are accounts that are āspecializedā only in this. But there was a change recently that lowered a bit the payouts for population only accounts.
Overall, it has been a great first year for the game, growing from a small discord experiment to a heavy investment game strategy. The long awaited 3rd edition should come soon and might bring in some fresh air after the recent drop in the token price.
All the best

well done boss
Wow! As time goes by fast and it is incredible to see how much the game has evolved over all this time and today it is considered one of the biggest blockchain Hive games.

Baby man has built up an empire. Great to see these stats. This explains why most of the selling of cards happens by deysfit.

Baby man good
His account is also the most attentive/reactive one, here someone post something with a lower price and someone starts buying them and there they find the lower offer from him.

I just found out about recently in mid december, unforunately, as i really enjoy the game.
I hope that the game keeps developing and the current drop in sime price is only temporary and the the price will recover soon!
I hope with the addition of the 3rd edition, there will be some strategies implemented to keep sim pegged to Hive at 200:1, as originally intended.
