A World of optional jobs

Without power, men will fight and kill themselves. I think it is a quote by Aristotle. I won’t be going on any research, correct me from your end. Where there is no control, things are bound to be out of control. On the other hand, where there is control, there is bound to be too much control. We are talking of humans here, who waste no time in exploiting systems. At least we can hear of such experiences in North Korea where the government predicts every citizen's moves.

We are gradually phasing into a new dimension of economic operations. As we speak, many are raising placards already in their minds to fight against a jobless industry. Actually, a human jobless industry to be more precise. It is something I have discussed on several occasions, the fact is, one has to just be ready. If you are to ask me, it is more of a no going back although one of the things I am looking out for is control.

I was going through such an article about what Elon said in a forum meeting about an optional job driven industry. His views was in the Next 10 to 20 years, something that I personally will doubt the latter. I know technology is moving at a fast pace but for robotics or humanoids to scale that fast in one or two decades doesn't look very realistic.

artificial intelligence is still undergoing enormous training, aside from soft copy activities replacing humans in the physical space is going to take a reasonable number of years. Let's look off from the taxi industry; something we know very much Elon and his team are taking as one of their big projects. Picking up and dropping a human can sound a little easy to program. Yet, considering the hard industries, you will see many limitations.

Think of logistics, a restaurant cook, a nanny, a doctor, human needed technique in a construction company, how about the area of laundromat? Some things go beyond just automations and while even the current stage of technology is already astonishing, achieving upgrades is another big task.

When big names speak there is always a need to at least go through some of the details. Elon Musk is not a tech novice; maybe his suggestion is more of being an insider or perhaps a way to scale his company's products. Robocaps are coming, there is no doubt about that.

That said, what did he really mean by jobs being optional? You can choose to work or let it be. The similarities here are more like planting a little backyard garden for yourself. No one is forcing you to do that, it could just be for the fun of it or you just love the beautiful flowers. Of course that is not what pays the bills. Or we can talk about going out for fun fishing. This is how jobs are assumed to be in the near future.

Is this impossible? Of course not, so what will be the hub to promote this? Of course the government. In short, what we are seeing from here is the fact that what could have been for the benefit of the masses was just waiting for its opportuned time. Is it bad if the government runs a government dependent economy? Of course not but it will come at a price; control. When money fails, something I am going to cover in the next article, the next move will be for the government to become caregivers.

To conclude, let me add, a lot of things are unravelling before our eyes and it still seems a joke to many. The old saying of ‘no work no pay' is phasing off. Don't work and get paid seems the future tactic and here what will fly will be citizen's compliance to how the government wants things done. Those that have seeing eyes know exactly where things are heading to.
