Some days earlier, I talked about self reflection. Ok, it is not everytime we have to be looking at economic trends, tech and so on. How I wish I was even able to get this article earlier than this, when the inspiration was still high. It is a Sunday afternoon over here and yes, it is activities upon activities in between. As long as self growth is a part of it, it is always very welcoming by me.

Ok, maybe I will be delving just a little into the economy. I will be taking something from it especially in this current state of our nation. It is worry upon worry for many. What am I going to eat throughout today? How about tomorrow and ok, the entire week? It goes on and on.

That general good advice, plan your day, week, month and so on. Is there anything bad about that? No and a ‘Yes’ if you will love to listen through.

No, in the sense that it takes planning to set things up for yourself and ‘Yes’ in the sense that we worry about things and prioritize its importance as a do or die affair when actually it is not. As I earlier pointed out, this particular article is how often do we worry about what to eat NOW, what to eat next and what to even eat throughout the week, we wake up thinking about it. You can read that over again to get a better digestion. What is food? In a few words, ‘a spell men cast on themselves’. You think I am joking, just tell people about food shortages and you will see a panic like no other. I used to have this mentality too until I went through self growth.

It has become clear to me that food is only for momentary strength and nothing more. This has been misinterpreted by many. Some see food as a means of pleasure. The survival antidote to walk on planet Earth. Ok, let me ask, who told you it is a must you should eat three times a day?

Ok, how about even twice or getting a little further, who told you your body needs food everyday? The doctor or perhaps you grew up to see the world system operating thus. The herd mentality has really taken us, it is not just the financial markets alone. Have you heard those famous quotes; ‘man shall not live by bread alone but by every word’---Lord Jesus. So it means words are another kind of food. This scripture points to relying on your Creator not creation.

I wish many were able to digest these few lines. It is a secret that I wished my parents should have whispered into my ears right from when I was a child. Do you know, anyone who eats less is already disciplined? His chances of succeeding in whatever he wishes to do are very high.

A man who can control his appetite has control over his entire body. Understanding that statement will give you some spare time. Killing yourself over at work just because you put food on the table will become secondary.

note, I am not saying you should not eat or malnourish yourself. No, the fact is, staying nourished is first a mentality. When you think it is eating three times a day or even to stupor is what can make this a manifest, your mentality has already trapped you.

If you eat whatever you want and whenever you want it means you are a slave. When trying to trace the greed that spreads throughout the globe, it mostly boils down to the belly. Yes, men have made their belly their god. This is why it is difficult to extend any helping hand. The idea is, oh! If I give out today, what will I eat tomorrow? As I earlier said, who told you it is a must to eat tomorrow? What makes you so sure that it is eating that will sustain you the next day.

To conclude, let me add, maybe life is not just as difficult as it seems. It is just you living to meet up with ‘a herd mentality’. The fear of looking unhealthy or perhaps death. Come on, skipping just a day's meal won't kill you. I am not even entering into fasting here, I am just talking of self discipline. You need it to walk the face of the earth.

Don't blame me much if you see me keep doing the opposite of what others are doing. The fact is, the opposite was always what works. There are numerous advantages behind developing this habit, from spiritual, to mental and even emotional growth. Do you even know that staying some days without food is a good health tip? It helps fight your system to fight sicknesses you never thought of. So most times it is not actually a bad economy, you have prioritized appetite.
