Glad you share these ideas, and I think it's just a matter of time until we see actual developments in this direction. There is already a thing called "seasteading", have a look if you don't know about them: https://www.seasteading.org
I already bought Dan's book a couple of weeks ago (and I had the pleasure to meet him in real life and chat a little, at a EOS hackathon on London, where I was part of the mentors team). Will post my review once I finished reading it.
