Once upon a time, a clever boy named Jack chased VCs with a crazy idea. He believed that people will spend a lot of time talking to each other on the internet, using very, very short sentences. He called those sentences Tweets. Easier to understand for VCs.
Some of these VCs decided to place their money on Jacks beanstalk. Being lucky as he was, Jack grew his idea ten times every day, until it transformed in this huge network that was reaching the clouds. Or the Cloud, depends from where you look at it.
But once he was above everyone else, Jack had a chilling revelation: up there, at the top, there were giants only wanting to grind his bones to make their bread with it. Those VCs, apparently, need a lot of bread.
He didn't like that. So, he decided to take from there whatever he could (including a goose which is supposed to lay golden eggs) and rushed down the beanstalk. He chopped it too on the way down, making sure no VC is following him.
Just because he had his beanstalk supported by VCs, Jack believes now all beanstalks are bad. Jack forgot he couldn't come to these conclusions in the first place, if it weren't for VCs who watered his beanstalk in the beginning.
Jack is in a strange place now. He doesn't trust that the magic goose he brought from the top of the beanstalk will lay golden eggs ever again. Furthermore, he believes there are no magic gooses at all.
Jack believes he has all the answers, because he had all the possible experiences related to a certain topic. Or industry. Or technology. Jack doesn't have all the answers. Nobody does. But he could at least start to ask the right questions.
