I probably wasn't very clear, but I don't believe social media makes the separation of power obsolete, on the contrary. The separation of powers, in the age of social media, is more necessary than ever. Social media makes the old state, governed by only 3 powers, obsolete.
And because of the increasing role it has, social media needs checks and balances for it too, just like the other 3 powers. All 4 needs to be balanced, somehow. I don't know yet how this will happen, or when, I just feel we reached a point where it's important to talk about it and do our best to find a way out of this slippery slope.
