There are few things that are certain in life. There are even fewer certain things in the wildly unpredictable world of cryptocurrencies. But in last few days, some things appear to be certain. It seems that the cryptosphere has finally arrived at the point where many, if not the most, of the most positive predictions in past few years are turning into reality.
Price of Bitcoin has reached all time high and, despite the usual and some very wise and healthy pessimism from people like Alex Saunders, it might remain there and push even higher in immediate future. Ethereum has reached long-awaited All Time High and continues to push even higher, with enthusiasm not being hampered by atrociously high transaction fees. Finally, all those HODLers and crypto enthusiasts who have endured ridicule and hardships during the Great Crypto Winter of 2018 might expect to see their patience and perseverance rewarded. That includes even those experienced slow but steady descent of STEEM and HIVE prices in past few years.
But the most important change is in cryptosphere leaving the ghetto and becoming part of mainstream. What used to belong to the domain of geekish enthusiasts, people on the wrong side of law or anti-establishment is now attracting the "normies", as well as establishment. Cryptocurrencies are openly promoted by the richest man in the world and now even one of the world's most powerful financial institutions – Mastercard – is announcing future options of cryptocurrency payments.
Although another major Black Swan event or massive price crash might bring halt to all those developments, it looks like that halt won't be as long and severe as those before. With worldwide and seemingly unstoppable adoption and entry into the mainstream, cryptocurrencies might afford to lose some battles, but they already won the war.
