Too many people say this like it is an actual option.
It would be kinda like saying: the government has but one choice: kill everyone. You can't rule over people if you kill them all, just like you can't shut down the internet without ushering in a new Dark Age where everyone loses (including the people in charge).

Forget the people, look at the companies that operate (and profit) from operations. The backlash by major corporations would be immense.

The world is changing and government needs to change. Find a way to pay for things like infrastructure, etc, with the new global crypto world that is forth coming.
