At the core Hive is just a blockchain that yield farms bandwidth. It can be used for anything. In the above example many whales would likely reject this direction and not delegate RCs to it even though it was the most profitable thing to do. Then there is the possibility that competing apps pop up, and second-layer scaling solutions that make the entire problem transitory; eventually disappearing.
