The gas cost to use ThorChain is 0.06 RUNE IIRC.
100 RUNE is enough to trade over 1500 times.
Considering I'm using RUNE for big trades I doubt I'll even do 100 trades.

I'll get more RUNE when I can afford it.
I do think it's guaranteed to go up quite a bit.
