I stopped reading at the spoilers. I kind of want to see it, I loved Bad Vegan on Netflix and I find the demise of any Unicorn interesting. The Dropout, not sure where it's streaming, is pretty bad, although not terrible. It seems like people are fascinated by anything resembling a con, maybe that's why Donald Trump is so popular, lol!
Inventing Anna is absolutely the epitome of this, with a Shondaland twist that is sure to make you binge-watch the whole thing.
Can you believe that Netflix is having such a setback? I wonder what that means for the wider streaming industry. I read an article about this where it described a misconception that Netflix is a tech company as opposed to a TV and movie studio, which is closer to the reality. It's going to be interesting to see where they go from here...
I have seen Inventing Anna and wrote a post about it too. It is an interesting series to watch, and like WeCrashed it is also based on true events. However, I liked WeCrashed better as series and a story. The ending was good too. While it may seem like a con or scam, I don't believe that. However, these stories expose the greed by large banks and investment entities.
I think Netflix will be ok. It has much better business model than the rest and might be able to outlast the rest of the competition. At the same time I think we may see some acquisitions or mergers to consolidate streaming influence. I start and cancel subscriptions on all of the services based on need, the only one I keep even when not used is netflix.
Yes, I think a lot of people are doing that!
