I joined hive (steemit back then) on June 2017, it was a long time ago (more than 5 years), but my progress is not that much yet still enjoyable. The first Impact was that I manage to withdraw some when (SBD) was at its peak just when the volcano in my hometown erupted back in 2017 so it help me and my family finance back then.
The other thing is that I manage to make friends (some I have met in real life), and learn a lot of things, especially photography. And this is the place where I gain confidence in my photo work, as everyone is supportive.
overall, it has changed me a lot.
It's great that you managed to use some of your funds from the blockchain when it was necessary. Hive is not only about blogging and making friends, it can be a nice additional income if necessary.
