When the idea of 50/50 reward sharing between curators and authors was floated back then, I remember being against it. There's no denying the obvious incentive it gave curators though, and the place is in a much better shape than those early days.
Even I will like to become a full time curator at some point if possible, and holding makes more sense the higher your stake
The EIP was a three-pronged approach and now with the curve gone, there is even more incentive to curate what we love.
