Yes it is better to leave the world better than when we entered it. I have tried to do that as well. We must realize what really lasts...even after our (and every one else's) time here. We may go with the flow, however to a point we can prepare...though we are never truly ready.
No one is ready to leave, when the time comes - I don't even think those who take their lives are ready - they just force it.
