Partnering with BlackRock means Coinbase has sold out to "the system". They may tell themselves that they have good business reasons because "growth"... Does not change the fact that "the system" has won. Coinbase has lost its independence.

Coinbase is a for-profit company. They've made a business decision. If my info is valid Blackrock is actively searching for partners like these. More will come.

If a significant part of your business depends on large entities like BlackRock, and others like it, you are trapped. And you will be "looking out" for your clients in your policy decisions. And then you are no longer independent of the system. The problem of going "institutional!
