Sugar is basically bad for health overall and you should limit your intake of it :)
It depends on the type of sugar. Natural sugar such as glucose and sucrose is OK. Even glucose and sucrose need to be managed.
Any other type is hard on the body. Then there is alcohol being converted to sugar by the liver.
You are right, was thinking mainly of white sugar :)
