The person who made the tutorials that I watched before I joinned Steemit, filmed them in Bali where he lived. He was a British expat and that is how I learned to blog correctly on the blockchain.

I heard about steemit years ago and I abandoned it because at that time I did not understand how something could have such a complicated password, I was used to simple characters for easy access, I did not understand that the greater the complexity the greater the security of my funds!

You had a similar issue to me as I couldn't understand why some keys were public and some not. But there were some excellent tutorial videos around at the time which helped a lot.
