RE: Daily Crypto Markets Live Blog: The World of NFTs (09/17/21)

Okay. This is getting out of hand. I didn't want this and it sucks to see this early in the morning. 😶

Can someone delegate some spare HP to me for 3 - 4 days? My delegation will take that much time to return.

Try to remain around the 90% VP unfortunately I find myself falling through the 70% at times. I also have alot of people I follow so alot of good content.

I often let my VP return to 100% and allow my account to trail a few people for a few days to break up my voting pattern and evenly distribute upvotes.

I'd recommend joining @enforcer48 down vote trail and help protect the block chain. Every little bit helps and it won't take away from your upvote power.

How does a down vote trail work? How is the DV trail for "@"enforcer48 different from the others? I'm just curious.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah you just jump on Hive.vote and search his name. @enforcer48 is a pretty solid dude (depending on what discord you're in people think he is a woman 🤣) I find his integrity really reassuring and does a great job.

Thanks for the quick reply. The recommendation makes sense.

So if "@"enforcer48 down votes someone everyone in the rail downvotes the same post?

If this is the case, does that mean the the down votes done this way make up a bit for the up votes which happen as usual?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

In a way, its to cut down the rewards the user will get at the payout time. I guess in a way combats all the voting trials and one or two people can't lower down the amount by much.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

One reason for the downvote is to bring rewards inline with what they should be. Some crappy posts somehow end up with a den-worth of LEO when it's obvious it shouldn't have that much LEO, so the downvote can be made then. It's meant to be a way to restore or maintain balance rather than a way to punish.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You won't get upvotes unless you follow his account for upvotes but you will get a bigger payout in general as downvotes shrink the payouts of people rorting the block chain.

That's good to know. So I would need to follow the account both at the blog level and at the Hive.Vote level for that to work as you described.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

If you go to Hive.vote it's all automatic and whenever enforcer48 downvotes someone your account will too automatically

I think you can follow the downvote trail via hive.vote

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That much I knew from my experience with Hive.Vote. I was wondering why "@"enforcer48 specifically.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Maybe his trail is followed by other well know accounts as well. And it constantly fights abuse. I am sure there are other trails like that.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's a good point. That's a good reason to use a down vote trail. I just don't want people complaining about down votes they get from me by way of the down vote trail.

(At the moment, I have more self-DVs than DVs given to me by others. That's ATM.)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think my only downvotes were given to spammers and when people requested downvotes do remove rewards from a post they have done by mistake (such as duplicate posts, wrong tag posts and so on)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Just like my upvote, my downvote doesn't mean much. So I am not going to join any downvoting or upvoting trail for now.

And as you said, it attracts attention that I don't want in my life. Downvotes hurt egos. Period.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I also don't want to join a downvote trial right now. I reserve my downvotes for phishers but who knows what will happen in the future.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Good question. I never heard about a dwonvote trail

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I hadn't heard of DV trails either until I started using Hive.Vote. It makes sense that they would exisit, though.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks for the tips mate. Will make sure to avoid getting into such situation again.

If I use less VP to upvote, it doesn't feel worth doing it at all because the upvote value is too small. Most of the time I use more than 60% VP to upvote. Guess I need to change my voting habits.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You can switch your votes and slide around to what you have available.

Just remember 100% 10 votes 50% 20 votes and 10% 40 votes.

Sometimes it's better to do a heap at 10% and then as you grow increase and reduce the amount of upvotew.

Or just sticking to 10 full upvotes a day will work best for your account until you get big enough.

That makes sense. I am really bad at math so never get into such calculations. It seems easy to follow now. I might stick to 20 odd upvotes per day. But as you mentioned earlier there are so many posts to upvote. 😭

If you curate on multiple frontends you can also try to play around with your vote multipliers using LeoDex. I do that and it really helps me to manage my VP

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

One of the reasons my voting power used to fall under 70% was because I was curating multiple second-layer platforms. So I decided to create alts. I am about to create an alt for Leo so I can maximize my curation reward as well.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I only have one alt for cinetv where I curate. On Hive I tend to rotate the groups I upvote daily

Yea, I think alt accounts are a good choice for that.

Or, if you are lazy like me, you can try to set different multipliers for the other frontends

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I just focus more on passing out HE tokens as rewards. You can always change the vote multiplier on that end and I don't really care if parts of my vote goes to dust right now. It should fix itself in the future.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It looks like taskmaster already hit you up. I think back when I was making around 100 comments a day, my recovery rate couldn't keep up when I only had like 500 HP. So I think you should be fine for now.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Just delegated you 150 HP.

It is best not to delegate all your HP away. Also, press the upvote less often. You kill your vote value when you do that (once you have some more HP in your account).

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks a lot, Task. This helps. I owe you one! 🙏

I am going to avoid giving out upvotes for a few days. Only when it's required.

I delegated all of my HP because I had some HP from someone else. It was pulled off and I didn't realize. 😂

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

No problem. 150 should let you comment until you are blue in the face and your fingers are purple from typing.

Not that I am suggesting you get to that point although it would help the overall comment count if you did that.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I recall the days when I was one of the people asking for delegations...and how much my comment count has dropped since then. I really should see if I can generate some more time to make more comments until my fingers are blue again.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

😂😂 I will stop just before reaching that stage.

Btw how many comments do we need to do before we hit the 10K mark within this month? I think we are far behind our daily targets.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

We are below. @amr008 will post the stats like he does each day. I havent looked at the monthly chart in a week or so.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I also think we are probably slightly behind. Of course it may be skewed a bit since some people (including me) have been doing a bit of clean up. My general estimate is that we are about 100 comments behind.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Good advice. In the early days of my delegation from you I still found ways to bring down RCs to single-digit percentages. That's becoming a faded memory, but it's still a cautionary tale.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I still recall the days I used the giftgiver site due to low RCs. Of course I don't think finguru counts as someone who can get a delegation since he has too much staked HP.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You may be right about that. It's like a billionaire trying to collect financial aid for grocery shopping; the need just isn't there.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I used that site too when I first started. It was a great help back then!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'm not using it for my main account, but I use it for my D.Buzz account along with a 15 HP delegation I gave it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'm going through comments from top to bottom, so I just saw your comment a couple of minutes after I delegated 15 HP to @finguru.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks mate. You can take it back because now I have enough RCs to play with.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

How do I take back delegated HP? Do I give you a delegation for 0 HP and that wipes out the 15 HP delegation I gave you? Or is there a special tool I use to do that?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I would just undelegate it. I found this in Presearch on how to undelegate HP.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

@readthisplease wrote about using Hive.Blog and PeakD to undelegate HP from someone. The screen captures focused on PeakD.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea I find that PeakD seems like the easier option. I was going to show how on my own account but I haven't delegated out any HP yet.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

PeakD does seem like the easier option. It even lets you undelegate Layer 2 tokens as well.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I find that PeakD is great for managing delegations so you might want to check it out if you never tried it

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I just used PeakD using the instructions from the post by "@"readthisplease. I revoked the delegation to @finguru and I updated the other delegations I had out there.

I also commented on the actual post and left behind a slice of "!"PIZZA as a show of appreciation.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I could delegate you 15 HP, my delegation to @magnacarta.buzz expired 2 days ago, so I can spare the HP for you.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hey Magna. Thanks a ton for the generous offer. This is resolved now!

I will make sure to keep spare HP to avoid this situation in the future.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Lol I can't remember the last time my voting power was this low. What have you been doing buddy? 🤭

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Excessively voting. More than I can afford to. 😭

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think a delegation got cancelled and when that happens, your VP gets cut down and the RCs recover slower as well.
