SOLANA price plunged for the same reason.

Check this out to understand why it happened:

Solana Mainnet Beta encountered a large increase in transaction load which peaked at 400,000 TPS. This halted the blockchain. Good that they are back up now.

    Scalability is a problem that many blockchains have, HIVE to a lesser degree. That is because the core developers of HIVE are proactive instead of reactive!
