I initially thought they could continually release new editions, but they'll start to get into trouble if they essentially reskin the stats of older cards...
They will certainly be more creative than merely reskinning cards (except for the fanart in-game skin shop, that will eventually come but that is just new skins for old cards). There are plenty of things they can do to create new cards. Plus, in the future there will be multiple game modes, some that are exclusively for the new edition cards and some for all cards. This will allow new players to stay competitive without investing a fortune into old cards and give long term players and card holders the option to get rewarded for owning such valuable cards.
