One of the most popular blockchains BNB chain has announced the second quarter of their BNB hackathon and is inviting developer teams to come and register for the event. This project has been code-named One BNB and features a whopping grand prize of $470k to be shared by all winning participants. If you are a blockchain developer or part of a team, you will definitely love this. So in this article, I try to bring you details about this coding event.
Mind you though that the event is strictly for developers on the BNB chain. The first quarter of this event has finished its registration period and now they just announced One BNB which would be the second for 2024. Now lets get into details.
About One BNB
This is a coding or developer hackathon organized by the BNB chain. They call it One BNB. The event is open to all developers that would like to build Dapps on the BNB chain. At the end of the coding event, prizes would be distributed to individuals or teams that performed outstandingly well. The total prizes money that has been set for this project is $470,000. Later in this article, I will explain how the money would be distributed to winners.
One BNB is another effort by BNB chain to lead the way in discovering or promoting unique Dapps solutions to the ever-growing and expanding blockchain ecosystem. The application of blockchain technology to solving real world problems lie largely on developing DApps that meet the demands of modern society. With One BNB, the BNB chain hopes to become a pioneering blockchain for inventing unique DApps and web3 solutions.
Qualified participants are blockchain developers that are willing to build on the BNB chain. They should have the skills and technical know-how needed to develop and launch Dapps on the BNB chain. All that are qualified are free to register for the event.
One BNB challenge tracks
It would be nice to know in advance what types Dapp projects participants. The organizers of One BNB have provided all information that potential participants would like to review before they decide to register for the event.
There are categories of DApps or type of projects that participants are expected to build. One BNB called them challenge tracks. Each track has all the details needed including the objective of the project and detailed descriptions. Let us summarize just 3 of them below:
- AI track: This is the very first challenge of the hackathon. The name already suggests why type of Dapps participants are expected to develop - AI Dapps. In this category, participants are to develop AI-powered Dapps on the BNB chain.
The projects developed under this category should be a service that allows users to create and monetize all forms of AI content. With the recent growth of AI projects and tokens in the crypto ecosystem, this category expects developers to create the type of AI blockchain systems that allows the creation and tokenization of AI content by users. Again, BNB chain expects to be a leader here and thus, amazing projects here would really be welcomed and rewarded.
- Depin Track: The implementation of IOT projects on the blockchain is another growing and emerging area in crypto. Hence this track would really be interesting. Participants are expected to develop blockchain systems designed to power IOT projects. The idea is to utlilze blockchain technology for the collection, processing and storage of data for IOT devices.
Projects submitted under this category must provide clear advantages of blockchain to IOT projects against popular systems today such as cloud. For example, the project must feature cost effective blockchain techniques for data collection for IOT devices and many other expected advantages.
- [Gaming Track]: For this track, its really clear what this is all about. Web3 gaming is perhaps the biggest sector in blockchain growth today. BNB chain wants to feature prominently in this too. Participants must develop interesting Web3 games on the BNB chain.
Projects submitted under this category must be games that are user-friendly and interesting to play. The games must feature reach user content and in-game assets. Most interestingly, they must be games that users are able to monetize their in-game assets too.
