A dollar a day

A dollar a day... The cheesiest line used by any fundraising organization right? Well, maybe "for the price of one coffee a month you could..." gets your blood boiling a little bit faster as you look into the eyes of the "charity worker" that keeps up a smile while talking you into a guilty conscience fueled by the hope of getting that 10% commission, I mean helping the needy

Let's try to reinvent the saying a dollar a day. Soon I'll be moving to Finland, and while I can keep working remotely for the company that I work for, I've been thinking that it's an ideal moment to take the red pill. Do Ignore the last Matrix movie, as it made the Blue pill look Viagra for a 90 Year old and the red pill as laxative for a 20 year old. A dollar a day however is the ideal start for 2 dollars a day, which can result in 3 dollars a day, etc. etc. etc.

Let's say I need 2000 dollar a month. That's 66 dollar a day rounded down. That doesn't seem impossible, but definitely not the easiest task. I've been a bit lucky playing Splinterlands lately and while there were days where I made that amount, and sometimes even more. But a sudden downfall in DEC can (and has) changed everything. I'm not worried in the long term, but making a living on one thing and one thing alone can definitely be a source of stress from time to time.

But hey, what if we shifted it around. Rather than 66 dollar a day, let's aim at making a dollar a day, in 66 different ways. That sounds "easy" enough! Well it isn't, 66 is quite a lot. But it does take 2 important marketing principles! For starters it diversifies our portfolio and secondly we're further dividing this big step of 66 dollars a day to one dollar a day and every time we make a new way of making a dollar a day we achieve a small goal, giving us a constant feeling of progress.

I do get that the people that have already built quite the portfolio aren’t as intrigued by this concept as it sounds like something “obvious” to them. However, this might become a fun journey for the “smaller fish” out there. Even more fun if we take it together.

So here’s my list of things that I make a dollar a day with/or am planning to make a dollar a day with:

ActivtyStatus
Splinterlands rentalsCompleted
Splinterlands battlesCompleted
Helium miningCompleted
GPU MiningCompleted
HBD Savings APRIn progress
Twitch streamIn progress

That's a total of 5 different ways where I have 4 completed and I'm using the leftovers to finish the fifth and grinding the Twitch stream to get to 6.

So while interesting I still need 60 other ways. So I'd love to hear your "dollar a day" trick. Whether it's crypto or not, on Hive or another chain. Passive staking or requires active inputs I want to hear them all! Do give a a link or a bit of information as I'll be updating this list with all your ideas

Personally, I find it really useful to post on Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, I earned around 91 Hive (divided into Hive Power and HBD) as a reward last month, it is a bit more than a dollar per day but I have to say I have been lucky because I received some nice upvotes recently.

So just comment on: https://www.splintertalk.io/@splinterlands/splinterlands-weekly-curation-challange-december-27-2021

Share your post on your social media of choice (like Twitter), using #splinterlands and #play2earn tags, and if your post is well written you will be upvoted by Splinterland's curators.
You can post twice a week on the Social Media Challenge and enjoy the rewards.

It is really useful to use the hashtags #spt and #splinterlands, other useful hashtags are #oneup and #pizza (to receive small tips).

So to sum up: publish nice posts twice a week, share them on the Social Challenge and use the right hashtags, and some nice rewards will come.

I hope it is useful for everybody who will read this comment.

Happy new year :)

Cheers for the tip @magalli, I've never done any of those. Though I've seen them pass ofcourse. I'm gonna give it a shot!
