How can I make the most money with the least effort?

Direct from the desk of Dane Williams.

Happy new year!

By the time those of you in the US eventually wake up and read this, we’ll all officially be in 2022.

Here’s to a safe, happy and productive new year that is touch wood uninterrupted by the hastened death of those most vulnerable within our society.

Oh shit, that got morbid quickly, didn’t it…

Anyway, I digress!

What I actually wanted to talk about was the direction I want to take my LeoFinance blog into the new year.

Well not only this blog, but actually my entire freelance writing business made up of both client work and personal content creation.

The quote that I need to live by

Here’s a quote that I have been thinking a lot about throughout the back half of last year:

“How can I make the most money with the least effort?”

For me, this is the holy grail.

You see, I’ve been too inefficient and whimsical in my work for far too long.

I know entrepreneurs aren’t meant to say that, but it’s just a personality trait which for me is always going to be there.

The only way out is to streamline my operation.

I therefore quickly came to the conclusion that I needed to create evergreen content that could easily be repurposed.

This is where I can get the most bang for my buck and I therefore need to change up how I do things day to day.

My focus needs to shift to:

  • Client work
  • Digital info products
  • Marketing of both

The idea is that my client work not only pays the bills week to week, but also gives me the hands on experience that I need to develop wisdom that is worth passing on via the digital info products

The eventual goal being to move away from client work and achieve a 100% passive income via those alone.

All the while marketing myself as a copywriter to businesses and my digital info products to other entrepreneurs.

How this affects my LeoFinance blogging

Ultimately, there are going to be changes to my day, including what I do here on LeoFinance.

This means my days will be split into:

  1. Creating content for clients.
  2. Creating content for my evergreen digital info products.
  3. Sharing the process with my audience.

1 and 2 are off platform and pretty self explanatory, but 3 is where the change affects what I do right here on the blog.

I’m going to pause creating and sourcing new content for the LeoFinance Crypto Guides project.

Having finished (or at least the content in my Trello, bear with me!) for 31 x 5000+ word guides, including every real cryptocurrency in the top 20 by market cap, I’m proud to say LeoFinance now has a strong evergreen content base to start getting backlinks to.

But unfortunately, we’re starting to see the Hive elite downvoting the templates to zero…

And while disincentivising the creation of evergreen content on Hive is extremely detrimental to HIVE’s long term value (lol), I’m too small to play politician within our stake weighted system.

It is what it is, but I've gotta change it up.

As for my blog content going forward, I’m going to flick to a more opinion-based, conversational style of writing that is more in line with my client work.

Ultimately, I intend to leverage my experience blogging on LeoFinance to promote our community as a key part of my business.

Stay tuned for more, but let's just say I'm extremely excited for this fresh start.

I assure you that there is still immense value for the community in the direction I’m moving.

Best of probabilities to you.

Sort:

I understand. I am focusing this year on creating patterns for sale rather than finished products. I can only sell a knitted sweater once, but I can sell infinite downloads of a pattern to make a sweater. It's a way of multiplying my efforts.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes, you get exactly where I'm coming from.

But don't stop still knitting and selling sweaters because you need that skin in the game and social proof to be able to better sell patterns.

All the best with your business in 2022 :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Knitting keeps me sane (sort of) so I will never stop unless my hands fall off.

I’m too small to play politician within our stake weighted system.

Truth is, this can be a stumbling block to growth, the issue with content and reward and how it tends to differently interpreted by stakeholders is also an issue.

You talked about contenting for different audience, my question is, you off chain contents are they also relatable to the contents you bring on the chain?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I primarily write for clients who run businesses in the forex and crypto space, so it definitely ties in.

If there's no value to the community anymore, there's always the downvote button ;)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I primarily write for clients who run businesses in the forex and crypto space, so it definitely ties in.

Yeah, that actually ties in, because it would have been somewhat broad if you're writing about something different entirely, dividing your time to create for two different audience can be rigourous.

Happy new Hive year!

Very cool graphic :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's alot of balance to keep up with creating contents here and for your clients.

Having a perfect time routine would be a game changer and make things easier in the process, but more importantly have fun along the way.

Happy new year

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Actually, I'll share the apps I use to keep to my routine in a future post.

Cheers for the idea :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Oh that would be nice. Will be on the lookout

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Happy New 2022 Year, @forexbrokr!

Happy 2022, Veso!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thank you!

Trying to do your own thing while also providing content for clients is a real hustle. Seems to me we are in the same sauce here but I can keep at it for another year I guess.

Hang in there and btw...

But unfortunately, we’re starting to see the Hive elite downvoting the templates to zero…

Wtf is this? Your guides are spot on and I used them as source material a few times last year while writing for clients. Why would people not want quality content on Hive? I don't get it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks mate :)

Working for external clients pays the bills and allows me to keep stacking crypto.

Eventually my capital here is going to be large enough to live off the daily profits.

But for now the grind continues ;)

As for the downvotes on the guides, it's fair enough if you don't know what they are I suppose...

Remember that for a few days they just look like blank templates with fat HIVE upvotes from leo voter.

I've just gotta figure out a way to change how I do new ones.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Seems like we all have the same struggle but same goals as well. Gonna be easier grinding in a group though.

The downvote thing makes sense now. People just feel like it's spam so it's a natural response. Can't keep 2 million accounts in the loop all the time I guess.

Probably best to work on the content first and then post the guide. It would require a few more steps in organization though.

If you need a brainstorming partner just let me know

Good luck with your fresh start. I hope this year is a great one for all!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks mate, right back at you :)

What are your plans going forward?

Are you all in on CUB rather than LEO now?

Definitely interested in hearing your thoughts.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Good question, I left the bnb/leo pool to stack some more hive for the airdrops. I boosted my cub/busd a bit and holding strong in the cub kingdoms waiting for something to happen there.
I'm keeping up the splinterlands deck and getting heavy on the lvl token, I think this one is going to turn heads in the gaming community for sure.
Of course my gold and silver stack continues to grow and more mining stocks as well.

Thanks for sharing :)

I guess we're all just ultimately trying to build something that will offer a passive income to live off in the long term!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Is nice to make a good decision, so that you will know were to start this year.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The thing about making decisions, is that you sometimes don't know if they're good until everything has played out.

Let's hope this actually turns out to be a good one :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's it

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Multiple streams of automated income is the key :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I totally agree and that is the end goal.

But in the meantime, I need to continue to build my capital base and to do that, I need to work with clients and continue to create content.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

thats great you have a plan, keep up the hard work, it will pay off !

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I love that hive provides a voting mechanism that allows creators to earn but few front ends allow continued earning past seven days like the PeakD tip option.
Creators deserve to earn regardless of what it is they create. I'm not trying to promote PeakD as much as promoting the continued earning of creators.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

For me, the biggest oversight in the design of Hive, was that it rewards short term content rather than evergreen content.

Therefore it encourages people to churn out useless content and then immediately forget about it, rather than continuously editing and sculpting evergreen content with long-term value.

Maybe one day in the future there will be mechanisms that reward evergreen content, but we're not there yet.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Ah it's too bad that some people don't recognize the actual project. I think your guides will provide quite a bit of traffic to HIVE and LeoFinance but not everyone will agree.

I am just like you right now where I am doing my job for my living and growing my HIVE account for the future.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

All the best for the new year mate :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Buy tokens on the cheap and wait?

How do you know what's cheap though?!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Generally speaking, projects that have a lot of development happening in the background, that are forming partnerships with companies and venture capital firms, but aren't getting much attention and don't have any hype surrounding them.

To me, it's hard to say you are going to do less to earn more 😃, hope things turn out the way you want it this year and am also looking forward to the things you are going to use to manage your business 📈.
Am also going to make a change in the way I do things on hive, but the difference is that I want to try to get more people to use hive with a business source outside of hive but they are connected to hive. "Best of probabilities to you " and me 😉

Posted using LeoFinance Mobile

Haha the title of this blog is a little bit of clickbait.

It's really saying: How can I do things more efficiently?"

I want to try to get more people to use hive with a business source outside of hive but they are connected to hive.

This sounds cool.

I'm definitely interested in hearing more about your plans here if you'd like to share?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I will share it as time progresses.🙂

I started early in SEO. 2007ish. I spent a lot of time touting evergreen content here as the most valuable but nobody wanted to listen. It was actually steem backlinks that brought me to the chain in early 2017. I feel like the templates you are describing are the most valuable thing on hive but others disagree. They're all wrong lol.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of the increased leofinance.io ad revenue that all of the extra traffic Google brought in during 2021.

Watch this space ;)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Love your writing style and explanations, so will keep lurking here regardless of any changes. Have a great 2022!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks Pardinus, I really appreciate the kind words about my writing style.

The whole crypto (really the entire finance space itself), is so complex.

I try to focus on keeping things light, conversational and relatable for your everyday person.

See you around the community in 2022 :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Complex it is, for sure! Cheers! !BEER

"And while disincentivising the creation of evergreen content on Hive is extremely detrimental to HIVE’s long term value (lol), I’m too small to play politician within our stake weighted system."

... as I have seen far too many others, in their own words, say more or less the same thing. How on earth "they" justify this is ... The "elite" indeed ... 👎

From the sounds of it, you have made a very significant decision going into the New Year. I wish you all the best as you set out in this new direction!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks mate, it's all good :)

I can see their point of view, but I just wish they'd take 2 seconds to ask about the value we're trying to build via evergreen content.

Onward and upward in 2022!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well, the "death" of one of the really beneficial initiatives in our LeoFinance community is very sad. Given there is no means of redress of these grievances available to any of us, though, you appear to be taking it all in stride ...

All the best to you in 2022 on your new direction!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'd recommend you put some of your content on bitcoinmyk.com.. we don't allow money to buy influence over there.

I know it's not how you see things, but in my opinion, it's this bought influence that actually gives Hive layer-2 tokens value.

I wish your project all the best, but I'm really trying to streamline and consolidate what I do.
