RE: Let's work on our post tagging.

Yep, the 5/5 rule for tagging is a good one.

  1. First 5 tags = topics
  2. Second 5 tags = communities

While on the surface it seems the community tags just allow authors to milk extra tokens, they do serve an important SEO purpose.

When you use them, that community front-end creates a version of your post with a canonical link pointing back to the native front-end you actually published from.

I've found that that using these tags helps Google to index the original faster and more efficiently.

Finally, as a LEO investor I would highly recommend curators with stake to only vote content published via leofinance.io.

I find it super interesting that communities still haven't realised the value of content and traffic yet.

Other communities are literally happy to pay you in their token to help drive long term value to LEO.

Crazy.

Once a share of front-end ad revenue is integrated into staked LEO, it will be interesting to see if this changes how other communities view content.

Thanks to adding in these extra details. It's true that the canonical stuff really helps.

I think the value of the content we all create is not recognized across the broader Hive eco-system, and it stuns me that other front ends, tribes and communities have not really made any moves to monetize beyond the tokens. Can't wait till the revenue sharing is up and running.

Thanks for the input mate.

Maybe they aren't aware of the impact their domain name has on SEO for their tribes or communities? We're aware of it here because we are reminded of it all the time, but elsewhere many people may not even know what SEO is.

If everyone could publish from leofinance.io, that would be sweet for us, but it would also be a disservice to everyone else. So the ideal thing is for everyone to post relevant content from the proper domain. For communities or tribes without their own domain, I'm not sure what they would do.
