LinkedIn is asking for KYC, and I don't want to bother with it.

I know if I do it, they will let me be there... with me on day probably being found as a duplicate of my own identity, but I just can't bother for that, so I will just leave it.

Maybe one day they will change things.

TIL some tea app have thousands of photo IDs out in the open recently. It's always in the name of "safety" while they did nothing to combat crime 🙄

I used to try get some info from the scammers and report them, just for fun, but only when having a profile there was possible without they killing it.

It's a a dead thing for me, but unfortunately some corporations still pay for, so I guess until that keeps it will not die, will still be there.

I am not paying for anything there.

LOL I'm getting the same thing when trying to access my own account a few minutes ago. Used a passkey to sign in.

Why would they ask for KYC? Is it a new thing for them?

They have KYC for a while now... but for older accounts, they are not enforcing. Only for suspicious new accounts. Depends... I never understood how they try to "consider" accounts real... but either way, they are not safe enought "for me".

I see.. But, it still remains categorized under "social media platforms". So, I get why you think that way.
