Another week, another “Share Your Battle” competition! This time around we are battling using the Diemonshark. It is a card that I was not really warm with in the beginning but the more often I got to use it the more it grew to my hearth. In this article, we will discuss the pros and cons of this card, talk about the different use cases where this card can be used. After that I will introduce a few potential cards to use it in a battle with. Last but not least we will take a look at two example battles! With that being said, let’s jump straight into it!

Diemonshark

Frist things first, let’s talk about the Diemonshark itself. What does it make it so special? Well, I wouldn’t say it is a very special card. This is also why I was constantly overlooking it in the beginning. It is a great tank on the outside. On the base level, it comes with 6 armor and 7 health. It is costing us 8 mana and brings 4 speed as well as 2 melee attack. All in all, a solid tank! It also comes with the Trample Ability. This means that every time this card is ale to kill a monster, it can attack straight back again!

I think this card is almost always usable in middle to high range mana cost battles. With the Water summoner it gets up to 5 speed and 7 armor at the base level. Its potential is at 4 attack and 10 health which increases the likelihood of surviving. On top of that it is getting the enrage and Retaliate Ability along the way. I would not say that this card has great disadvantages except its costs. Yes it is also a little bit easy to kill with magic attackers but this is where we come to the additional card that we should use with it.

All in all, this card is usable in almost every battle ruleset! I would avoid using it in the Poison Ruleset, the reverse Speed Ruleset and obviously not use it in the ones where it is blocked anyways, like the no-melee ones for example. On the other hand, there is almost no limit on where to not use this card. Especially in the only-melee rulesets, this card can accel and bring a lot of joy!

Rest of the Team

After highlighting some of the more important stuff about the Diemonshark, I want to point out three cards that I am almost always using in combination with the Shark. You can consider these four cards combined a started pack for the Water Splinter so to speak. The first one is probably my most favorite card in the game: Djinn Oshannus. Since I was able to get this card into my deck, the battles are so much easier! It is a legendary 8 mana cost card that is shinning with its speed and attacking style: magic! On top of that it brings 10 health and has already the Void Ability. This is important because while the Diemonshark is a little bit easy to defeat with Magic, this card will definitely hold its ground against magic!

Next up we have the Deeplurker. This card is a very useful card if we want to attack some of the backline monsters that our opponent wants to protect with his own tank. Not only that, but it also helps to have melee cards that can not only attack from the first position. This is why this card is very valuable in any melee-only battles. With 4 melee attack and 6 health it is also not very fragile. Last but not least, we have Kulu Swimhunter. For only 4 mana, this ranged attacker comes with 2 attack, 2 speed and 4 health! It is a very solid card to play in any occasion. Because I like to have some diversification in my team regarding attacking styles, this card is the perfect complementation to that.

Example Battles

Now, that we covered the theory, lets jump into the promised example battles. In the first one we were up against a very difficult opponent who was choosing a very similar strategy. It was a melee-only battle and both of us had very similar strategies in mind! The only difference was that I chose to have an extra attacking monster while he chose to buff his cards more. The first view rounds were dominated by the Diemonsharks trying to take each other out. In the end, his was able to last longer but, we were able to get his Disintegrator, so we would have a more even playing field in terms of attacking values. In the end we were victorious thanks to the positioning of our cards I would say.

The second battle was again against a very difficult opponent who chose the Divin Shiled strategy. A very clever strategy if you ask me! This time around we can see that the Diemonshark is not very made to hold against magic attackers, but like I also said before: this is why we have the Djinn. In the end we were able to win a very tight battle here as well!
