In this week’s “Share Your Battle” edition it is all about the Disintegrator! That is why in this article we will talk about how and in which situations to use this card best. Furthermore, we will talk about the team around this card as well as show some example battles. With that being said, let’s get started!

The Disintegrator

This week’s star: the Disintegrator is looking like a true head cutter! This neutral monster is a Melee attacking type and is costing us 7 mana which is on the higher side to be honest. Furthermore, this monster comes with 2 melee attack, one speed as well as 5 health and 2 armor. All of these stats do not sound truly amazing, especially the lack of speed makes this card not very attractive. The true upside of this monster is the Ability! Already on the basic level, this card has the Demoralize Ability which reduces the melee attack of your opponent by one. Immediately this card gains a lot of utility in “Only Melee” match ups or if you know that your opponent is likely to play a Melee line up. With this card we are able to break the strategy of our opponents immediately and secure some advantages going into the battle. With higher levels this card gains more abilities. In its final form it has additional Trample, Knock-Out and Retaliate which makes this card a very good tank. The icing on the cake is that this card is a neutral card, which means that you can play it in every Team that you want.

Team & Strategy

Because this card has no specific element, the choice of summoner is free. I really like to play this card within a Fire or Death Build. With Tarsa I have the chance to increase my melee attack while my opponent’s attack gets decreased. With Thaddius Brood I can decrease the overall strength of my opponent as he decreases the health and the magic attack of the enemy.

Moving on to the strategy and which monster we should use. If we decide to go with the Fire deck a very good choice of tank is the Living Lava. This card is normally a very solid tank by itself, but with the Demoralize ability on our side this card gets even better. Because it has the Shield ability the damage taking by melee and ranged attackers gets cut in half. This means that if a monster with one attack is attacking our tank, the tank will take no damage at all. This very important if we want to protect our Disintegrator for as long as possible. The same strategy works with the Death tank Harklaw. The only difference is that while Living Lava is a basic card which everybody can play, Harklaw is a legendary reward card that must be earned or bought first.

For the rest of the team it depends which attacking style you prefer. I think it is favorable to use Melee attacks when using Tarsa. Furthermore, you would use the Disintegrator in match ups with an “only Melee” restrictions which is why I would always chose Sneak and Reach cards to maximize my attacking force. The idea behind it is that while the tank takes all the hits, you are able to minimize your opponents board by deleting it from the back. Good Sneak Cards to use are Uraeus, Tenyii Striker and Silent Sha-Vi.

Example Battles

This time we have three different opponent elements which shows that this strategy can be effective against anyone! In the first battle we match up against another Fire Team. Unfortunate for him that he did not choose to play his Disintegrator which means that his attacking buff goes to nothing. With the increase Melee Damage on my side we are able to comfortably win this match up. The second battle was a more difficult one. Or main advantage in this one was that we were able to erase our opponent’s backline faster than he was able to delete my tank. With the help of the Disintegrator we were able to bring down the attack of his Unicorn to 2 which helped out massively along the way. But the best example for the use of the Disintegrator is probably the third battle. In this one we have the exact use case that I talked about in the previous section. Because we are able to bring his attack down and have a Shield Tank in the first position, our board stays more or less unharmed while we are able to pick his team apart from the back!

I really hope that I was able to bring you new ideas into your portfolio of Splinterlands Strategies and I wonder whether you have a different strategy regarding the Disintegrator. I am also very happy and thankful about any kind of feedback! 😊
