It’s this time of the week again: Share Your Battle Time! This week’s guest is none other than the mighty Grund. This lizard is without a doubt one of the strongest cards out there. No wonder he is the most expensive Chaos Legion Epic card. In this post, I want to take a look a closer look at this destroyer card. Furthermore, we will discuss the cards that I am using to support him as well as look at the example battle that we were able to win once again!

Grund

First things first, let’s talk about the star of this post: Grund. For 10 mana you are getting an extraordinary card! I would recommend using this card every time you have the chance because it is that strong. With 3 melee attack, 3 speed and 10 health without armor you would ask yourself why I am hyping this card up so much. The reason is simple: the Ability! With Double Strike, this card is able to deal 6 damage each turn and from level 3 on even 8 damage per turn!

Additionally, it gets the Trample Ability which will allow him to attack again if he manages to defeat one of our opponent’s monsters. Why is double Strike so great? Not only are you doing double damage but you can also neglect the effect of Divine Shields and Armor. Once the first line of defense is broken, all hell brakes lose and you are good to go!

There is also almost no ruleset I wouldn’t use this card on. The only exception is whenever Melee cards are not allowed, but this is self-explanatory. The Thorns Ruleset is also debatable but because of double strike you are also getting double the Thorns Damage which should be avoided. On the other hand, rulesets like Opportunity or Sneak allow us to place this card even in the backline without having to think about the attack order since this card can then attack from any position we want!

Taunt

In order to take away some damage from our tank and redistribute it, a taunt card is always nice to have! Fortunately for us, the Earth Splinter has exactly what we need: a taunt card that can attack from any position we want: Mycelic Slipspawn. For 9 mana we are getting a card with 2 magic attack, 3 speed and 11 health which is pretty good for a card like that. Not only can we redirect the damage towards our tank but also can deal some damage ourselves. This card can especially work very well with some healing cards or Triage cards, but this was not the case in this specific battle.

Magic Damage & Some Healing!

Furthermore, it would be great to be able to heal our Grund so he can deal some more damage through out the battle! This is also something that is present in the Earth Splinter in the name of the Goblin Psychic. This card is also one of my favorites. Not only can you deal some great damage with this card but also keep your tank alive in order to deal even more damage!

While staying at the topic of damage, we also need to talk about two more cards that will guarantee us 6 more damage per turn! One of the is Regal Peryton which has additionally 6 speed and 5 health. This alone is incredible but for just 5 mana, this card is an absolute nightmare for opponents. On top of that I like to play the Magi of Chaos. This card is costing us 6 mana and has 2 speed with 5 health but the perk of this card is that it is neutral so it can be played in literally any battle! With all of these three cards we are dealing additionally 9 mana damage which is bringing us the victory in most cases.

###Example Battle
With our strategy being all out attack we are battling against a Life team. A very strong one in my opinion. With the Time Mage and some great attacking values this opponent had a very similar idea. On top of that there is no armor and a Divine Shield on every monster which means that the first hit does not count and that magic attacks do not have a big advantage since armor is disabled.

Well, but there is one big advantage that we are having over our opponent. The majority of our cards can attack from the first position even if Grund is defeated while his second and last card can not attack from the first position. This is hurting him especially after we are able to defeat his tank, because he is losing valuable attacking points. Grund does a great job of deleting the Divine Shields and just deleting a whole bunch of his monsters. With that being said, he unfortunately was defeated in the course of the battle but was able to take a lot of health points with him! In the end the battle was not even close although our opponent had a really strong team together.
