This week’s “share Your Battle” has a very cool card in focus! It is the Magi of Chaos which is a neutral epic card that can be used in every team that you would like! This brings a lot of advantages and many interesting combinations. In this article we will discuss one of the many interesting combination of this card. We will talk about which Splinter we are going to use this card with and in which situations this card is best to use. Furthermore, we will take a look at potential cards to include in the team with this card and last but not least talk about the example battles. With this out of the way, let’s get started!
Magi Of Chaos
First things first, Magi of Chaos is a neutral card that costs 6 mana to play. For this proud price it brings 5 health, 2 mana attack and 2 speed on the basic level. In my opinion a very epic worthy card. The biggest advantage is obviously that you can play it in every team, and therefore add a magic element to any team you want. This helps to diversify your squads more. Furthermore, it is a magic attacker with a fair amount of health. This means that this card will not be defeated by one strike and can also deal some damage exactly to the core of the target and not on the armor first. Yes, it is on the slower side but all magic attackers are.
With higher levels, this card only gains attack and health. Here, I think the attack is more important and can get up to 4 points! The health maxes out at 7. In combination with Obsidian and other Magic attackers, this card is an absolute machine as it would than max out at a total of 5 Magic attack! This brings us to the rulesets that I think are clever to use this card in. In my opinion it makes absolutely sense to use this card in the Reverse Speed Ruleset. Because this card has only 2 attack it will attack rather early and put some good amount of damage to our opponents. Explosion is also a Ruleset that would benefit this card, especially in the higher levels as the additional damage will get higher.
On the other hand, I would avoid playing this card in rulesets where his attacking style is neglected. Those are where you can not even play Magic cards or where Magic cards hit armor first. Furthermore, you can not use this card in rulesets where you require to play cards with a max of 4 mana or where you are not allowed to play neutral cards, but those are obvious restrictions. Other than that there are really not many use cases where I would not use this card if I have the mana and no better alternative for this card!
Damage Cards
Now that we discussed the main star of this article, we need to talk the team around it. As I mentioned before, I would like to use this card in the context of the Earth Splinter. The reason for this is that it will get a magic attacking boost which is always a good thing for us! First up is Grund! This card is just an amazing first position card. Because of his 10 health, 3 melee attack and Double strike Ability this card is hard to not play if we have enough mana. This will deal 6 damage each turn and is hard to come by.
In order to get some structure into the game, Taunt minions are always a good tool. One of those is the Mycelic Slipspawn. This card does not only take away all of the potential damage from Grund but also can deal some serious damage itself. With 2 magic attack, that gets bumped up to three, this card is no joke for damage dealing! Which leads me to the third card that is a must have in this team: Regal Peryton. This Flying monster is just amazing. Because of its high speed, you are almost always guaranteed to hit first with this card and if you are able to level it up to level 3 you will get 3 magic attack on this beast!
Support Cards
Last but not least, we need to add a bit of strategy to our team. How are we going to do that? Well, we need to support our attackers and make them survive somehow. This is best done by healing them up and protecting them with armor! The latter is being done by Queen Mycellia. This card is just amazing in the beginning stages of this game! Because it is a Magic attacker herself, you can place her anywhere and she will attack. On top of that she protects all of our minions with Armor!
On the other side we have Goblin Psychic. This card allows us to heal our tank, and if Grund is basically isolated fighting against the other tank, this healing Ability can make them survive the whole battle! On top of that, this card is also a magic attacker which allows him to deal some extra damage as well. Both of these cards are not the quickest but will definitely shine in the Reverse Speed Ruleset.
Example Battles
This leads us straight to the two examples that I brought to you today. In both cases we were up against very similar opponents. At least both tried to go with a Earth Magic build as we did. The big difference was that we had the Magi of Chaos! Of course it was not the only contribution that has lead us to victory in both battles, but this 2 magic damage are hard to neglect in the long run. I would suggest that you watch both battles as Magi of Chaos has definitely contributed to the outcomes of both of them 😊.
