Another week means another Share Your Battle competition. This time around we are battling side to side with Tenyii Striker. I must say that this card is probably my most used one when I am playing with the Fire Splinter and in this article I will make sure to highlight why this is the case. We will take a look at the card itself and also at the complementary cards that I often use to make my strategy work. In the end we will talk about the example battles and see how our previously discussed strategy is working out in the battle environment.

Tenyii Striker

First things first: Tenyii Striker. Like mentioned before this card is a Fire Splinter card with the mana cost of 5. So far so good, what makes this card great is definitely its stats. I would say that this card does not have an obvious weak point! On the beginning level it has 6 health, 2 attack and 2 speed. With Tarsa as summoner we can bump up the attack to 3 and the health to 7.

With the Sneak Ability this card makes a very deadly weapon and it gets only stronger with higher levels. It can get up to 5 attack and 4 speed which makes this card even deadlier and with the Abilities of Dodge and Strike Back this card also opens up new strategies for us to use. In general this card can also be played as a tank, but would then lose its greatest advantage of attacking from any position. This is why I always like to put this card in second or third position to utilize its stats most efficiently.

Tank Position

With our main star out of the way, let’s discuss our tank position. Because our strategy will be to delete our opponent from the back with as many Sneak attackers as possible, we require a tank that can take some hits. This requirement is fulfilled by man cards in the Fire Splinter as it is a very Melee heavy Splinter. With that being said, we also look for a card that has either a lot of health combined with a good amount of Armor or a card that has the Shield ability which basically reduces all the Melee and Tanged Damage that this card is taking.

My most favorite cards to use are the following: Living Lava, Antoid Platoon or Forgotten One. Depending on the ruleset and mana requirement I am varying my team tank between those three cards. While Antoid Platoon is being used whenever we do not have a lot of mana available, the other two cards are going into battle whenever we have an abundance of mana.

Furthermore, I like to use the Forgotten One more than the Living Lava as it has more attack and more speed. Additionally, the epic card can not get poisoned which gives us in certain situations a great advantage. In general, all three of these cards are able to take a good amount of hits before giving up which makes them the perfect fit for this position. Not only that but they are also able to deal out some damage by their own which makes us not only put pressure from the back but also from the front.

Complementary Strikers

Speaking of Pressure from the back, I think that our strategy is pretty clear now. We want to delete the opponent’s back line first with as many Sneak attackers as possible. Complementary to Tenyii Striker, I like to use either Uraeus or Sand Worm. In cases where we have enough mana, there is also a use case for both of these cards.

What should I say? With the Tarsa summoner, both of these cards will get extra health and most importantly an additional attacking point. This makes these cards extremely deadly. And allows us to break trough every opponent’s back line and puffer. Even if the last card has divine Shield or Armor, we are able to delete this monster because we have three attacks on this card per turn. This is a very good strategy in order to surprise our opponent that was focusing on his tank and support first.

Ruleset Dependent Addition

Last but not least, we need to be flexible in our strategy. This is why I like to spice the build up with different Support/ Attack units. While the Disintegrator is being used to counter a Melee-Heavy enemy, the Exploding Rats are a great addition for Sneak and Opportunity based Rulesets where it is not required to have the rats in the tank position.

In the first case we can mitigate the damage that is done to our tank or in general. This makes our attackers last longer and we can deal more damage per turn. In the second case we are dealing a lot more damage per turn because the Rats are most likely to attack some monster in the middle of the field which allows us to deal half of the damage to the monsters next to the target. This basically double the damage that the rats are dealing each turn and they do not need to be in the first position in order to do that!

Example Battles

With the strategy out of the way, let’s discuss some example battles. While I could bring endless battles to the table, I decided to showcase you two of my recent once. In the first one we are using the Sneak technique to delete his support units first. As you can see, by the beginning of the second turn, we were able to get rid of our opponent’s Queen which means that all of his monsters are losing their armor protection that they gained in the beginning. This allowed us to easily come out as the winner of this battle as we countered his strategy perfectly.

Meanwhile the second battle was against a player with a similar mindset. He also had the idea of utilizing the Opportunity ruleset to his advantage which lead into both of us using the Disintegrator to counter the additional attack by the summoner. Because of our monster choice we were able to fix our attacks on his backline first. Unfortunately, he was able to get rid of our Disintegrator first but even then we had enough health to come out victorious out of this. The deciding unit was yet again Tenyii striker who performed the final blow on this opponent.
