52-Week HBD Savings Challenge
A 52-week challenge following the popular model starts slowly and becomes increasingly more difficult with every passing week. The challenge is not at the beginning but at the end. That's why, we can use the easy start to prepare for the tougher weeks ahead.
In my case, I started with 1 HBD in week 1. This is also the step that increases the amount I need to save every week. The rule is, in my case: I need to add to savings the amount of HBD per week equal to the week number in the challenge. That means, in week 52 I'll need to save 52 HBD.
We are in the 24th week of the 52-week HBD challenge. That means I added 24 HBD to the savings for this particular goal, and reached 300 HBD (nice! a round number! 😀), without counting the accrued interest.
Here's how things look right now:
Note: You can see there is already a small discrepancy in the totals between the spreadsheet and what is in the wallet. That is because of some approximations and easy calculations in the spreadsheet.
I needed to use 3 HBD from my reserves to reach the necessary 24 HBD this week. That's pretty good actually, but probably won't be as lucky this week...
Posting & Commenting Goal
I haven't missed a daily post this year yet. Reached 1816 posts published, with 189 left to hit the target in 2024. That puts the progress at 46% where 44.23% was needed to be in the green.
Here's the situation so far:
I haven't missed any edition of Week through Adrian's Lenses in 2024 either, and I mention this since it's also part of my posting goal. Overall, I reached the 74th edition of the weekly roundup which debuted at the beginning of 2023.
I also started the week with 19,125 comments made. Ended the week with 19218, which means I made 93 comments last week, which is close, but still below the weekly average needed to reach the comments target by the end of the year.
I currently need an average of 96 comments weekly to reach the comments target by the end of the year.
LEO Staked
My LEO stake remained at 24,000 LP, with 3k delegated to the winner selected to win my delegation for participating in the LPUD (just undelegated it to get ready for the next one). No more pooled LEO for now, just adding them up for the coming LPUD.
Here's the current situation:
If I participate in the future LPUDs as before, with 200 LEO power-ups, and nothing else staked throughout the months, this goal should be completed in October.
Splinterlands: Increase Grain PP to 400,000
Goal started in week 19.
What's the progress so far?
Started previous week at 326,856 PP. Today's number is 329,690 PP. That's +2,834 PP. I need around +2600 PP weekly to complete this goal until mid-December.
Land Plots Unlocked - Completed
Goal completed in Week 18, with the following situation at the time:
73 plots were productive and 27 were still under construction.
Currently, 85 plots are productive out of 100, with 15 still under construction (still clearing). 3 plots became productive this week.
ZING Multiplier - Completed
Goal completed in week 10 with 25,203 ZING.
Since then, I slowly grew my stash from staking rewards only. Waiting for sales.
My ZING holdings are now at 26,452.

It’s really difficult for me to track all these things together, but I appreciate your effort. You are doing a great job, and you are also meeting the goals, which is very good.
I actually like tracking stuff about my progress and having stats. But I know not everyone does. After a while it can become a routine.

I hear about the Hive power up day and I’m familiar with it already. Is there also anything like SPS power up day and what is Zing multiplier?
There is no SPS Power Up Day, but that doesn't stop you from powering up (staking) SPS whenever you want.
There is, however, a LEO Power Up Day on the 15th of every month.
ZING multiplier doesn't really exist. It's a name I gave to my goal because it was easy to earn ZING back then. ZING is the token of the future Holozing game.
Can you share a tip you use that you haven’t missed a daily post this year?
Do you set time for your writing session or what?
Not really. It is just something that became a routine for me. I guess it's like brushing my teeth, but it takes much longer, lol. And when I will miss some days (and I will likely miss some days at some point), I will do it consciously, not because I forgot.
Wait you mean to say you have close to a 100 plots? That's unbelievable, except I didn't read right..
I have 100 plots, yes, but only 85 of them are currently producing something. But the other 15 are in development and will become productive sooner or later.
Wow, that's huge.. one plot back in the day was selling for over 700$
Those are the good old days. Now we are back almost at the presale prices with the common plots.
It's crazy, I hope things get back to those good old days. It's unbelievable how far we've come.
I think this was a one-time event in the history of Splinterlands. But maybe we'll see better times, not necessarily as high.

Wow I love this. But for someone who rarely gets rewards on their posts, are there different saving packages they can make do with?
You can save as much as you want and any time you want. That is my challenge for this year and I kind of knew I have a good chance to complete it given all the potential sources I considered. It will still be a tough one.
If it seems difficult to you, you can set yourself a goal of adding a certain amount of HBD to savings every week, for example (a fixed amount, not an increasing one, as I do).

Yep, those reserves prove very useful at this point. To be honest, when I set the challenge, I thought HIVE would have been around 50 cents by this time, so let's hope I won't have issues completing my challenge toward the end of the year.
